Traci Jefferson
President
I am the current President of Atlanta Cheer Cares and Owner of Atlanta Cheer Academy. I was a Competitive Cheerleader throughout High School, College and was a member of an Adult Competitive team prior to opening Atlanta Cheer Academy. I served as a member of the Youth Football Alliance Cheerleading Board of Directors and Sandtown Youth Sports Association Board of Directors where I served as President for 2 seasons. I have also volunteered with Georgia Youth Law Conference, National Association for the Counsel for Children and was also a member of Junior League of Atlanta 2015-2017.
I know first hand how beneficial cheer can be. Competitive cheer not only made me physically and mentally strong, it taught discipline and impeccable time management skills. Skills that came in handy throughout college, law school, and even now as I juggle being a single mom, working full time, devoting multiple days and hours to ACA, and pursuing other personal and professional goals.
Competitive Cheer is costly but I believe the benefits outweigh the monetary cost. These athletes will be exposed to so much more than just cheer and tumbling. Traveling, meeting new friends, learning how to network, maintaining good grades, becoming leaders in our communities are just the beginning of what Atlanta Cheer Academy seeks to do.
I am excited to serve as your President and can’t wait to see what great things Atlanta Cheer Cares does for Atlanta Cheer Academy and the Atlanta community.
Meet Ashley Keeler
Treasurer
I am a native of Illinois who relocated to Washington, DC, and then to Atlanta, GA in 2017. I was a competitive cheerleader starting in middle school and continuing through college. Cheerleading was a huge part of my life for over 11 years! Now, I’m a CPA and business owner who also maintains a love of travel, exercise, live music and giving back.
Over the course of my career, co-workers and even supervisors would often ask me how I remained so calm in stressful business situations, how I kept a positive attitude on days where work just wasn’t going right, or how I was able to lead a team of 10+ while keeping the client happy and meeting my own deadlines. The answer is: the skills I learned as a competitive cheerleader. There aren’t many other sports that yield such a well-rounded athlete who can balance critical thinking, teamwork, work ethic, and competition while maintaining a million-dollar smile. Competitive cheerleading is a sport that prepares girls and women for success beyond the ‘mat.’
I joined the Board of Directors for Atlanta Cheer Cares in 2018 because I truly believe there’s so much value in exposing girls to this competitive cheerleading, and that economic background should not exclude anyone from the life skills that this sport instills.
I’m happy to serve with Atlanta Cheer Cares and hope you’ll join us in extending the opportunity to CHEER to many, many girls in the Atlanta area!
